Professor Carl Gensel founds "Kranbau Köthen".
1950
Förderanlagen- und Kranbau Köthen is founded (on the site of the former engine maker Junkers Motorenwerke).
1971
The two enterprises amalgamate to become "VEB Förderanlagen- und Kranbau Köthen".
1990
The enterprise is transformed into a limited liability company.
1992
The conveying plant business passes to TAKRAF Leipzig AG.
1993
The company is taken over by Ludwig Willenborg Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG Vechta (first privatisation). Conveying plant business is resumed. The company trades under the name of "Förderanlagen- und Kranbau Köthen GmbH".
1997
Conveying plant business is transferred to FAM.
1998
Second privatisation by Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH. The company starts trading under the name "Kranbau Köthen GmbH".
2000
The European Commission makes a positive decision on the final takeover of Kranbau Köthen GmbH by Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH. Integration of the company within the crane systems business unit of the Georgsmarienhütte group of companies.
2003
Delivery to Rohstoff Recycling Dortmund GmbH of the 100th crane since the takeover by Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH.
2004
Kranbau Köthen celebrates its 70th birthday - over 5,000 cranes delivered to customers all over the world.
